I just can't do it. I can't make myself pick up the needles and knit right now. My knitting bag is sitting on the couch, stuffed with the pieces and parts of the Zippered Cardigan but I haven't touched it since Monday night.
What is wrong with me?
I still enjoy reading everyone's blogs and keeping up with your knitting triumphs but right now I have lost a bit of motivation. I'm not in a bad mood or unhappy, just not inspired.
Even my cat senses something is amiss. I have thrown a pile of yarn on the yarn room floor, oddball skeins that I plan to donate. Each is zipped up in big plastic baggie. Big Kitty has taken to dragging the bags of yarn from the yarn room and leaving them in the hallway or in the doorway of the master bedroom. Is she trying to tell me something?
You know, not knitting has freed up an enormous amount of time. I have cooked dinners this week and started reading the latest Harry Potter. Still, I feel a bit adrift somehow.

sorry to hear about your knitting funk. =( did you lose interest in your current projects? or just need a break? OR if you're free, you can assist me in teaching high school girls how to knit - that may help in getting you back into the swing of things again. =) (p.s. i'm kidding about the last option, but if you really are interested, i could use all the help i can get) =)
Every now and then, there would be such a time in a knitter's life ... no, not only a knitter, everybody actually. Do what you feel like doing ... it's not bad actually, cooking ... reading ... just enjoy what life brings to you at this moment. The yarns? They are not perishable items ... they would be okay. ;)
Well, quite honestly, knitting isn't the most exciting activity out there anyway. I'm sure the thrill will return; "you guys just need some space." ;)
Lynette -- Terri showed me a sneak peek of November's guild program -- that Mystery Project thing -- last night. It's a hoot! Hold on to that bag of odds 'n' ends!!! :)
I think its perfectly normal to need some time to do other things. Do what moves you now, and get back to knitting when it excites you again.
